A Fistful of Dollars...

Kamall Ramsahoye

A blog on last Friday's wild west showdown!

The night began with both sides (the opposing Rojo and Baxter families): Doug (3 Cowboys) and Alex (2 Gunfighters), and myself (3 Bank Robbers) with Johnners (2 Gamblers), slowly moving from opposite ends of town towards the inevitable showdown. The wildcard was Pat who played the ubiquitous Clint.

The first shots were surprisingly from Clint who badly wounded and then killed the first of

my bank robbers, badly wounding another. Perhaps I had moved too close to the

supposedly neutral Clint. In return the remaining two bank robbers blaze away and

surprisingly kill Clint despite the modifiers being heavily stacked against them.

The other side of town Johnners’ 2 Gamblers are holed up in the undertakers but Doug is peppering the building with all 3 of his men. Doug pulls some low cards but can’t play due to wounds (minus 3 action points per wound). Johnners returns fire killing the first Cowboy but at the back of the building Johnners' other man is pinned by Doug’s 2 remaining men.

Alex finally finds some action, sending 1 man to hide behind an out-house to get an angle

on my remaining Robber both trying to reload with low cards and carrying wounds.

Johnners uses 3 aimed shots to wound the second Cowboy twice.

My remaining Bank robber takes out Alex’s gunfighter, silly of him to run into the open with

only enough actions to fire twice! His last Gunfighter is still loitering around the dunny.

As in High Plains Drifter, Clint's resurrected ghost returns seeking revenge; walks from the

graveyard to behind my final character and finishes him off in cold blood after being

wounded twice by Alex’s last man; whom I might add was going to retreat until Phil

persuaded him to have a go!

Back at the undertaker's Doug fires wounding the Gambler twice, one more hit and he’s dead! Johnners pulls a King, but Doug has a 9 but with two wounds all he can do is reload 2 bullets and blaze 1 shot! He misses but Johnners doesn’t.

With only Alex and Johnners with any characters left alive, apart from the disembodied Clint,

the Gambler limps out of town whilst Alex’s Gunfighter heads for the saloon.

A great night's play! Thank you, Phil!
